Course Description

Through this course, learners will be equipped with the knowledge and skill sets required of a Senior Security Officer. This includes being able to obtain and record surveillance information accurately using appropriate surveillance equipment in accordance with relevant legal and organisational requirements. Officers would be able to perform remote access surveillance functions using security software programmed and equipment such as CCTV, computers, recorders, and monitors.

Pre-requisites:

  1. Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 4
  2. Manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4
  3. Act in a professional manner
  4. Observe confidentiality
  5. Be vigilant at all times
  6. Physical and medical requirements
    • Certified by a medical doctor to be physically fit for work
    • Must not be colour-blind or hearing impaired
  7. Basic skills in operating a computer.
  8. Smartphone with an internet connection and QR code scanner function (this will be used during the POLWEL assessment).

(Individuals who do not meet the entry requirements will be subjected to an interview before acceptance into the course.)
